Little Su River Clean-Up / Race on May 31st

Hey Everyone,
This year's Little Su Classic is set for May 31st.
There are two pieces to the event:
#1 is a river clean-up that covers 18 miles of river from Schrock Rd bridge to Parks Highway bridge. The float starts at 8am at Schrock Rd bridge OR at 11 am at the gravel pit on Three Bees Rd in Meadow Lakes. The party that picks up the most trash wins the biggest prize, but we also have door prize drawings, poker run, picnic, check points with refreshments, BBQ at the finish, and commemorative T-shirts. All of this for $20!
#2 is an all-out race from Schrock Rd bridge to gravel pit which is about 11 miles, and takes about an hour. We have trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in KAYAK, CANOE, and RAFT categories.
Come out and support Rotary Club of Susitna and help clean up the Little Su River before the first salmon get here.

Hey Brad,
Well, I picked the crappiest day of the year for our event. There was rain and a high wind advisory all day, and there was even two inches of fresh snow in Hatcher's Pass. The event was poorly attended for obvious reasons, and we had 1/2 as many attendees as normal. On the positive side, we did get the river cleaned up, although there was more that we could have gotten. I dropped a T-shirt off for Neil, but he wasn't around. Thanks again for your interest.

Man you guys were unlucky with the weather. Thanks for the effort though. I cleaned up part of my stretch of the upriver yesterday between the edgerton and welch bridges. The grass is getting tall out there.
