Hi, I have a female Lab that is 12 years old who was just diagnosed with laryngal paralysis. I understand that the normal procedure would be what is called the tie back procedure. I live in Kodiak and we only have one vet clinic on island, and they have almost no experience performing the procedure.
Would anyone know of a vet on the mainland who is experienced in this procedure?
Thanks
Robert

My 12-year-old yellow had that as well. We were told that at that age having that surgery was not a good idea. We ended up giving him CBD oil to try and help him relax more. It seemed to help for a while. But when the attacks started to come more frequently, it was about the same time his hips started going, so unfortunately, we ended up having to put him down. Terribly hard thing to watch a sweet dog go through. So sorry to hear this about your dog.
