Lake Creek in mid-May

Anyone fish for trout and greyling on Lake Creek in mid-May. I realize depending on the year it likely will be murky with run-off and what not, just wondering if anyone has done this. Thinking about doing a float down Lake Creek in this time frame.

Mid May is usually to early, try the end of may or 1st part of June. Swinging Black wool head sculpin is one of my favorite patters on Lake Creek in the spring. Also try Cheranobol Ant for a top water pattern. Good Luck.

I have floated Lake Creek in May a couple times... put-ins 'may' be of some challenges (depending - lake/lagoon ice or slury-ice or strip covered to too soft/muddy) as well as take-outs. Fishing is quite sporadic and not nearly what it trends during summer months. You will find nice larger (yet on skinny-side) up to 27" Rainbows typically in full color spectrum green, crimson, dark chrome. Grayling will be way of but shore-lunch-able. Best part is that you'll have the whole river to yourself!
