Don't normally target yelloweye as they are so easily overfished. Dave and his family down from Homer for an evening trip last Tues night, wanted to grab a few yellers, beautiful evening so we went at it. 15 minutes out of the dock and we set on the drift, 15 minutes later we had all 4. Ma got the lil one, Anna with a 13, Grace with a 25 and Dave with a 12. Spent the rest of the night playing with some nice big black rockfish on the light tackle. Went out Fri night with the fiancé, she wanted to catch a fish bigger than her, hooked her into a salmon shark, unfortunately her ate a grub on a jigging rod with 40lb leader, half hour later a tooth finally found that leader and we parted ways. This weekend Mark came down for 2 half days with his family, a Fathers Day weekend. His 2 girls have never been on the ocean so this was a "testing" trip. We had great weather on the first day, and k weather on the second, but the youngest didn't fair to well and we played hide and seek from the wind. Eeked out a limit on day one of chickens and a few decent fish on day 2. Girls had a blast and we excited to have caught their first halibut, lingcod and rockfish.

That was a ton of fun catching those nice yellow-eye and black rockfish last week, John. Something the girls and I will not soon forget.

For those that are looking for a knowledgable guide with a **** nice boat in Kodiak, look no further.
