Hi everyone! Haven't used this site in a number of years! I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with some local Ketchikan knowledge. I'm specifically targeting the stocked kings from shore, but concerned because i was told there's lots of construction at the Herring Cove Bridge. I know there was just a small sliver of land that allowed us access to the beach, and just wondering if we can still fish from shore there? Any input/advice appreciated.

Yes, you can still fish from the shore. But to let you know the King run to the hatchery is almost over.

The OP put 2023 in the subject line, so he's interested in next year.

The Juneau hatchery king run in best from early June to mid July in the saltwater. Probably has different brood stock than that for KTN. They were still catch catching them in saltwater in front of the hatchery on salmon eggs just a couple of weeks ago. Of course, they are well past their prime.

Chartreuse and Pink Flying C's are the spinners of choice up here.
