Give her 3 long stems of peacock feathers and tell her how nice she'll look wearing them, maybe that'll cure her. :)

My wife is a hairdresser and I caught her trying to snag some of my hackle. Chicks are paying 25 bucks for three feathers to put in their hair.W T F

W T F indeed... What is wrong with Women?

I was in the fly shop not far from where I live and noticed a stunning woman browsing through the necks and saddles. I asked if she was a fly tyer, but before she answered warned her that a marriage proposal was riding on her response. She was a hairdresser (She was hot, but I'm happy to still be single!)

I must hang with a different crowd, I can't say I've seen women running around these parts with feathers in their hair. Maybe I'm just not observant enough...

You have to elevate your line of vision & concentration to above the neck. :)

Ok serious now (but just for a minute), have any of you actually had a hard time finding hackles? My wife raises chickens and a variety of game birds. We used to save the hackles but couldn't give the things away.

Long dry fly saddle hackle isn't the same as your garden variety rooster hackle. There is a lot of selective breeding that goes into getting the best genetics to produce long, skinny hackle fibers. They're going on ebay for about 4 times what they used to.
