Comment Period Extension
Kasilof River Special Use Area

The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water, Southcentral Regional Land Office has initiated the process of designating the lower Kasilof River a Special Use Area. This proposed designation would directly affect approximately 2,665 acres of state owned and managed lands on the lower Kasilof River. The draft Kasilof River Special Use Area decision is now available for an additional 25-day comment period beginning November 16, 2010 and can be viewed at: http://dnr.alaska.gov/mlw/kasilof/.
The Department has scheduled an additional public meeting in Wasilla, AK during the 25-day comment period extension. The meeting will be Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6:30-8:30PM at Central Mat-Su Fire Department (101 W Swanson Avenue) in Wasilla.
Comments must be received in writing on or before 5:00 PM December 10, 2010.
