Well, bummer. They also posted the DG720 winners and for a moment I had some hope that my wife's name would show up, but no such luck. Congrats to the new winners.

I did download the winners list and stick my friends name in there and showed it to him. I let him go for a while but when he started telling his wife about his upcoming goat hunt I broke down and told him the truth.
That's just mean. I might be willing to do it the other way, delete their name and show it to them, but to get their hopes up like that???? Man, I would be looking for retribution. You might want to watch yourself a month from now. You just gave him a good month to come up with a doozie of an April Fools joke.

Not a bad problem to have. I signed on to run charters for Chuck from mid july thru mid Aug. Hope that first week of Aug stays open so I can chase a goat!

Had a guy in my unit back in '05 do that to my troop when the early promotion list came out for E4. Burned him pretty good, kid was running off to call his wife when I caught him to let him know it was BS. I was pissed watching him tear up over the embarrassment, mainly because he honestly deserved the promotion. I promised to even the score for him if he didn't beat the other guys "hiney". A few weeks later I had the other kid brought in to the readiness office and given quick ship orders to support a marine medical detachment in Ramadi. My friends in readiness gave him the whole predeployment briefing, even told him he couldn't call or tell anyone outside the unit, then sent him back to the shop to collect his personal gear and tools before heading to the base supply to pick up his IBA and chem gear. The kid actually broke down and started bawling. He kept saying he didn't want to go to jail. When asked what he meant about going to jail he just said that he didn't want to go but didn't want to go to jail either. He said I could go to Canada (not sure what he thought that would do...). Long story short complete sobbing mess and then my troop got the pleasure of dropping the "April Fools!" on him. To my knowledge that kid has not played a practical joke since. I was actually a little worried when he left for the day that he might not come back! Funny thing is the troop that got the promotion "joke" played on him would have loved to get attached to a Marine detachment in Ramadi. He has volunteered repeatedly to go on any deployments available and just returned from a voluntary tour in Afghanistan where he was doing convoy escort duty. I think they ended up making the other bum an officer.
