A little advance notice for you guys.
We plan on doing the same thing we have been doing for the last 8 years.
Dumpsters, bags, food and drawing at the Pavilion.
10 AM start, lunch at 1 PM and door prize drawing starts at 3.
We've been averaging 400 participants the last 3 years now, great turnout doing great things.
We get a LOT of support from local businesses putting this thing on, if you are interested in helping as a business let us know.
If you as an ATV user wants to get involved - plan on coming out and tell your friends about it. The Cleanup has always been open to anyone who wants to show up.
If you want to get more involved, let us know!

You guys are really tearing up the countryside over there w/ your fancy polaris dunebuggys! I'm about ready to start gathering signatures to make Jim Creek for 3-wheelers only!

Yeah but how are people going to get their stolen cars out there to start on fire?

Not to mention hauling out the refrigerator target backstops and the console (big heavy TV for the young folks) TVs to build fires in?
Come to think of it, that may be You-Tube material! :)

We are going to need a lot of bags. I can't believe how trashed out some of the camping/party areas are. I found one spot on the trail where a truckload of household garbage has been dumped. Last year we had to hunt for trash, not so this year.

Im not trying to steal the thread, but there are other trails out there that need to be cleaned up as well. I was up the B-29 trail last week and its trashed I had my kids with me and we gathered up a rhino bed full of trash and there is tons more. Again not trying to steal the thread. Just keep in mind when you go out for rides maybe take an extra trash bag and fill it up on your way out if you have room.
I think the Jim creek clean up is great but there is other places that need cleaned up.
Thanks, and ride safe!

the AMYA will be out there with a platoon again this year as well

Do you know which platoon it will be? I am a mentor for one of the cadets in platoon 3 and helped coordinate them being out there last year.

Hey muddy I remember talking to you last year. It will be 1st platoon, but While this is a fun trip on top of the work; due to the door prizes and BBQ if any of them are on LOP or HC or failing a class I am going to be pulling cadets from 2nd and 3rd to make up the difference. and leaving the ones behind that need to wrok on their home work. BTW this is TL McCarthy

Well, if it is the day of rapture, I would rather be out in the sun doing some good than sitting in a bunker. :)
See you tomorrow!

7.3 tons of trash, 450+ participants and a pretty dang clean area!
A big Thank You to everyone here who came out to help and another Thank You if you are a donor.
The young men of the Military Youth Academy impressed the hell out of the DNR guys and everyone else with their work down by the bridge! Place never looked that good!
Next year, same time, same place, we'll do it again!

Great job!

Great job!

The area down by the bridge, especially the party areas were really trashed. I rode through there today and they look great! Thanks!
