Was going to throw the 6wt in the truck if there is open water around the edges...heading down to Chitina on Sunday for a three day trip, always nice to take a break from driving and wet a line for a Laker....
Is there open water on Paxson, Summit or Fielding lakes?

Paxson is wide open - no ice at all. From the rest stop ~8 miles in on the Denali where you can see Summit Lake, it looked like there was still substantial ice but that it was breaking up. The caveat with that observation is that it was made from miles away, so take it with a grain of salt.
