Does anyone know anything about this air service? Just to be clear, this IS a different operations than 40 mile air...http://www.tokairservice.com/wrangell-tok-hunting-support
I am planning a moose hunt for my father in 2015 and have been doing a lot of research on air charters for a drop off hunt. I really like the sounds of what 40 mile air has to offer, but it sounds like they normally wont have moose spots open for first time clients. It seems like Tok Air Service may be relatively new, I have been google searching charters for months and just recently did I find their website. I can't find anything, so if anybody has some info they wouldn't mind sharing I would greatly appreciate it. Anything from the way they run the business, to piloting skills, and hunting success would be useful info. Thanks!

I know zak Knaebel he's good, he is not with 40 mile, nor does he lands on their strips he has his own. I'd roll with him anyday !!! I'll most likely use him if I was to ever get out that way and hunt the wrangells or if Tok Happens.

Ive known zack personally for many years and he's a top notch pilot. Id trust him with my life any day of the week and he works hard to get his clients into great hunting spots. He's always making new strips to access new areas and is very hunter friendly as he is a hunter himself and understands what us hunters are looking for in an air taxi.

Thanks for the info, sounds like he is everything you could ask for in a pilot. has anyone gone on a moose hunt with Zack through his outfit?

You probably won't find anyone with that experience as he just started his own business this year. he has flown for 40 mile for years and years before he started up

I flew for the same air service that Zach flew for out of Fairbanks. He was just learning about the Fairbanks routes...I don't remember him having any problems doing the job. I never flew with him but flew along side him. He grew up down in the Tok area, he should know the country well. There is a fair amount of competition down there though for hunting spots....

I talked to Zak yesterday about a 2015 moose hunt but I can't find anyone to go with me. He didn't want to take me alone and said I should go on a caribou hunt instead. He is right so I'll go on the caribou hunt. Seems like a good guy and knows what he is talking about.
