From the picture, that craft looks tippy. Slim Williams and his partner made a "bull boat" from willows and a canvas tarp every time they had to cross a stream on their motorcycle trip from Fairbanks to the L48. Natives used to make moose hide boats all the time to float rivers down to their home villages from spring camp. I think I would prefer an open boat for the load carrying capability, but if you had to run any rough water it my be better to be decked over. But a blue tarp over rocks... not me!

that type of boat could save your life.
Sayak, I remember watching old Slim Williams make those willow frames with his hatchet/axe, and was just amazed at his skill with that tool.
what a guy to have known..
