ideas for adventure

so... winter skiing has been a dissappointment this year... looking for some ideas for a car-camping/fishing trip... my dog recently got knee surgery done so I wont be hiking him into the backcountry... though, I will be taking a wall tent with a wood stove for about a week of comfortable camp life.

I'm thinking of heading to Skilak campground... then make some day jaunts to the river. dont really care if I catch much, just wanting to be outside in the springtime. might also head to Tustemena/Kasilof...

...somewhere with open water and the prospects of catching fish...

any ideas?

The drive up to Denali is pretty cool and lots of places to stop and camp/fish along the way!
