I'm looking to hear back from some people about their experiences with ice fishing shacks. I'm looking to get one for spearing mostly but will use for ice fishing too so it needs to be very dark inside even in the middle of the day with sunshine. My brother bought a small dark green one last winter from sportsmans and it works, but really should be alot darker.
does anyone have any that they've used (aside from plywood ones) that they would recommend for this. I want to be able to store it in a sled for pulling or it could have it's own sled it folds into. either way.
thanks,
Justin

what I use

what I use

I have an Eskimo Quick Flip II. I find it dark enough to spear in, even on bright days. It's also versitile enough to use for any other type of ice fishing a guy would do up here. I have a mr. heater propane stove i use to keep the ice from forming over my hole and a small cylinder of fuel lasts a few hours. I also bought the optional snowmachine hitch and can tow it anywhere. Works real good!
