Has anyone been fishing around the Quartz lake area yet? I think it might be good to walk on but I just have not made it down yet.

and way too many posts about ninilchik river subsistence harvest; maybe if the moderators would close these threads, someone will go out to quartz lake and answer your question.

12-14"es of ice acrossed from Eielson as of last wensday.

16"es on birch as of last weekend.

So I'd bet there is a good foot or so on quartz, more then plenty to walk on. Heck we've drove vehicles on less in MN.

Good ice too from what I've seen, nice and clear.
