I should know this but don't. PA-12 float struts vs PA-18 float struts.

Float Strut lengths PA-12 with 18 style gear compared to 18 gear?

I have some EDO 2000s which I never installed.
They are supposed to be for a PA-12 with PA-18 style gear legs.
I am going to sell the plane and floats. ( Gotta find something more bad hip friendly)
How much difference, if any, is there between the struts for a PA-12 with 18 style gear and a regular PA-18 strut set-up? Could they work on a PA-18?

Can't really help 'cause all I have is fading memory, but my understanding (from research and a decision not to purchase a few years back) is that there are different float struts/wires for a "12 with 18 gear" than there were for an "18 with 18 gear". I seem to recall that maybe 2 out of 10 (?) float strut pieces were different and the wires were different. I also seem to recall that my mechanic at the time said that the "18 with 18 gear" setup on EDO's could be modded to fit a "12 with 18 gear" but not the other direction. That mechanic would not do that mod for whatever reason. I believe (fading memory again) there are different part #'s involved that EDO can identify if ordering new. They might be able to provide specific measurements that would help identify if what you have is for "12 with 18 gear" or for 18/18.

Sorry, recognize it doesn't really help.

FWIW, I think Mr. Google will probably get into a couple of threads on Supercub.org that may provide insight.
