Okay, here's an interesting poll. Rules are simple. The only qualifier is that you have lived in Alaska at least once, with the intent of making this your home (one-time hunting trips don't count!). Recently our poll showed a very high number of Alaska residents here, and I'm mainly interested in how long folks have been here. You only get one choice, so pick the one closest to your situation.

32 years come this November. 12 years in Sitka and the remainder out here in Bethel. Looking for a move towards the Fairbanks area so I can have better access to the property I just bought NW of there.

Allen; did you vote? I didn't see anything in that category!

Since "71", with a 3 year stint in Chicago when I was "searching", Alaska called me back! Guess that's "Sourdough" status, don't feel like one though, well not like the one's I've seen over the years........Scarry!!!!

How long in Alaska

How long in Alaska

Michael,

You did say live their once, I lived in Fairbanks for roughly 5 years in the 80's and I have made it back up every year since and with the last 10 years I have been racking up months in state rather than weeks. I am slowly moving back just bringing a piece at a time, so far the wife has not noticed the things missing. :)

Never thought I'd reach sourdough status

Never thought I'd reach sourdough status

My wife and I got here the summer of 1970. Lived in the Soldotna area for twenty years. And now we have lived in the bush for 16 years. So thats two
sourdoughs with one vote.

Born and raised here...don't intend to leave. (God would have to do some serious convincing!)

Came from Seattle...

Came from Seattle...

in 1980. September will be 26 years. My dad transferred to Ft. Rich in 1980 for a two year stint...the rest is history. Can't imagine ANY circumstances that would entice me to moving back to Seattle or the Pac Northwest.
