Was down there on the fourth and just stopped and from the bridge you could see a couple different schools of fish in different eddies. Have at em.

We came down today for some last minute grandpa fishing with the boys. Got down here about 1:00 pm..took a little while getting set up and ready to fish but me and father in law limited out in about 30-45 minutes. I spent more time swatting at flies than fishing though. There was a recent hatch of these flies that look like ordinary house flies but ohhh do they bite!
Anyway the fishing was pretty good and though the water wasn't black with fish we still saw a steady ribbon of them coming up the creek. The weather was stellar today and cooler than Anchorage has been and even the smoke wasn't too bad.
As for fly colors they bit various colors of Russian river flies, but I had especially good fishing on one of my father in law's flies he had given me, orange and white, he called it a "booby" but wasn't sure about which one it was. Sounds like he may have mistaken it for a great dream or something. Ha ha.
From what I saw it appeared they were biting everything, about like normal.
