I went out jump shooting the ACWR this evening with my buddy and his young chessie. It was a beautiful evening with a steady breeze. There were only a few high fliers passing. While walking near somebody's blind we were surprised to find a mallard belly up in very short grass on the edge of the pond. We were surprised somebody could have missed picking up such an obvious bird. As we checked out the blind (it sucks by the way) we were further surprised that you could have missed the two dead gwt's in the grass less than 10 feet in front of your blind. Thanks for leaving those. They made great training aids for the pup. We left them in your blind hoping they'd rot and make a huge, stinking mess awaiting your return. The pup is still learning to use her nose otherwise I'm sure we would have found more birds you left.
Yes, I'm assuming it was the blind builder's choice to just shoot birds and then leave them. It could have been somebody else, but I doubt it. That's why I'm calling him a duck shooter because somebody that considers himself a waterfowler would not engage in wanton waste of such tasty fair.
At least we shot...AND RECOVERED...a pintail on the way out which improved our attitude.
