Live ones are said to be good bait for Giant Lings but then again Lings ain't all that smart...just vicious and tasty.

That's definately a kelp greenling.
A side story, I used to dive a lot at Mountain Point in Ketchikan. I had a pet kelp greenling that I fed almost every day. He would follow me down to about 100', then hang out until I came back up. I would crack a scallop or catch a shrimp for him every time. It was hilarious. I had a pair of "pet" wolf eels as well that I fed urchins to.
I named the greenling Fred. He was a good dive buddy

[FONT="]Yes, it’s a female kelp greenling with an interesting dorsal fin malformation... As far as I know you could have kept it, and they’re supposed to be fantastic eating from what I’ve heard though I’ve never tried them personally. These fish are not generally targeted in Alaska though I know of some limited directed sport fisheries along the Pacific coast. Thanks for the inquiry![/FONT]
