Saw this on Facebook today. Took a screen shot from the video. Pretty cool.

There was one spotted there last year as well. Heck, might be able to just take a leisurely drive to fill a Talkeetna Mountains caribou tag one of these days.

Decades ago, there was a good size herd in this area. I was told that they were of the 'mountain caribou' type! Because of easy access they got hunted real hard, hence few left!

My father used to see them near Willow back in the 70's. Also saw them several times in Petersville.

I stopped in with a friend for hot cakes at old Alaskan guide Roy Biffle's cabin in the early 70's and he told me he used to see caribou by Upper Bonnie Lake around Sutton.

Al Trihub said he found a very old caribou shed up in Eagle River Valley when he was hiking one day, said it was mostly buried under the moss.

Them critters just seem to go where they want.

There has been some dandies rollin around the Soldotna area the last few years. See them almost monthly ontop of the Fred Meyer hill. If people would quit hitting them with cars we might get a season one day haha.

Last summer my daughter text me a pic she took of a nice little bull that was dodging highway traffic in down town Soldotna over by the Moose's Loose stop light...

I found a shed antler on the ridge above South Fork Eagle River/Hiland Road about 20 years ago. It was pretty old, and certainly made me wonder about its source.

I've seen Dall sheep up in the the Hatcher's Pass area before. Even some rams. I ain't saying specifically where though.
