Has anyone fooled with a Ruger "Alaskan"?

I am looking to upgrade my summertime CCW from a S&W snubbie in .38 +P.

I am thinking there is hope to fit one IWB/appendiceal carry.

At least as accurate as a snubbie .38?

Never mind that I could shift the .454 cylinder into my 4" redhawk and have a dedicated .45LC snubbie ;-), I am just working from already reloading .45 (long) Colt, like the caliber a lot and looking to upgrade my .38.

I carry my Alaskan 454 alot and its easy to hide if wanted. It fits my back pocket real good.I mostly shoot 335gn. 45 colt in it

Would it be wise to switch cylinders like that? What about Timing?

It’s all CNCed to very tight tolerances so it should time fine, need to check it to be sure nothing needs tuned but it shouldn’t. No it won’t be as tight as a line reamed cylinder where the chamber is cut right in place in the frame through the barrel opening. But that isn’t what Ruger does anyway, they machine them to tight tolerances from the start so they will be in spec and not require much if any hand fitment.
