I was born and raised in Alaska, but now find myself living in California with my wife. I have quite a bit of helicopter time and would like to find a job flying R44's in Alaska. Any insight on un advertised R44 jobs in Alaska would be greatly appreciated. I currently fly tours over Lake Tahoe, which is great, but I need to get out of CA, lol.

Now is the time to hand out resumes up here. Seems like everyone is looking for pilots to fill ground schools right now. I dont know to much rotory jobs but try Jay Hawk over on Merrill Field. They seem to do a bunch of R44 work. Or Alpine Air in Girdwood.

I operate out of Birchwood (private pilot - c-180) and lately there is a couple of R-22's and an R-44 training every day there ....

I would echo what AKHUNTER said. If you are looking for R44 work I think Jay Hawk at Merrill Field is the place. Good bunch of guys with a very good rep. If you are looking to move up to a turbine they are right next to Evergreen and you might be able to make friends. If you have the hours (1000 Helo PIC) then I would get my resume in to ALL of the 135 guys (Evergreen, ERA, Temsco, Airlog etc...). Now is the time they are looking for summer hires. Just my nickel

I don't know, it depends on the habits you picked up in CA, whether you should come back or not.
Do you use 'product' in your hair?
Do you believe in neighborhood covenants? that what your neighbor does on his land is indeed your business?
Do you drive a BMW?
Do you drink half non-fat triple lattes?
Did you throw out all of your carharts?
Do you you want Feinstein to follow you up?

Just some food for thought.
