Many years ago, I was in the USGS building getting some topos for a sheep hunt and they had a bunch of old books for sale. I bought one called "Geology of the Alaska Railroad Region" by Stephen R. Capps. The interesting part is that only the first part of the book is text and the rest are maps folded up in a packet. They're pretty brittle since the book is old (dated 1940) I've not opened them for fear of damage, but they look to hold some very interesting information. Does anyone know anything about Capps? The historical aspect is fascinating to me not to mention that I might find some gem of information that could have been forgotten over the past 65 years!
