I've been watching and reading all I can about the new Forbes production rifles, up to yesterday I was just pondering on whether to go with an '06 or wait and hope for the 7mm Rem Mag to emerge in the line-up - Then yesterday I was reading the "blog" on their website and I see the announcement that they have "improved" the trigger safety mechanism into a 2 position/2 function "like the Rem 700" - Well, THAT instantly killed my interest in the rifle as frankly, that was a main feature that drew me toward them - I know that there will be many who tell me you should not move around or hunt with a chambered round but we all know that there are times and personal styles that vary in circumstance and I've "been there and done that" in looking down at my rifle to find the bolt open and the mag empty, not interested in ponying up $1300-$1500 for a gun to repeat that debacle so I guess I'll be sticking with my Tikka Superlight 7mm mag and carry a couple of extra loaded mags in my leg pocket

Im sorry, didn't you just tell everyone how to make a super accurate barrel? Couple extra mags caught my attention, if you can make a barrel run that true why would you ever see the need for "a few more mags"? Just wondering never saw my three plus one as not enough. And I am not a great shot!

Well, first there's the possibility that you might just lose it without popping a cap - second, there's the chance of an honest "firefight" and just one extra might not be enough - and there is always the chance of "buck fever" taking hold and 6 would be too few ....... I'm not the ONLY guy who thinks just one drop out magazine is not enough - let's see, how's it go "one is none, two is one" or something like that - as far as the "rifle" shooting good THAT just cleans up the aftermath when the excuses start flying - I was just sharing some learned "wisdom" on barrels, to each their own, I would never call someone "dumb" for not following my suggestions .....
