For some time I have been reading on M1 FB pages and forums that the only thing the French made SF clips are good for is wind-chimes.

So I made wind-chimes out of some of the SF clips that I have.

Learned a few lessons doing this project.

1 - What you read on the internet is not always a good idea.
2 - I have way too much time on my hands.
3 - Not a good project for someone with OCD and a short attention span.
4 - The steel that the clips are made of is very hard on drill bits.
5 - I have way too much time on my hands...

After I posted the wind chimes, (on a couple M1 pages), some well meaning person suggested that maybe the SF clips could be used as Christmas ornaments.

Challenge accepted!

Then my wife got involved...

Robot is a M1 enthusiast.

He likes the wind chimes but was not too happy about my wife painting the clips for Christmas ornaments.

She mentioned something about him not letting her near the wind chimes...

I agree about how tough those clips are. I've tried to make SLEDs (single round loading devise) several times.

Thanks everyone. Many interesting and creative ideas. Now I want to make myself a wind chimes for my house and am looking for various interesting options. While I settled on a Zaphir style wind chimes, it suits me in design, but I will do a little with changes. Maybe someone will throw some more ideas.
