A pretty good size chunk of pink salmon that we found floating dead on the surface and when that Halibut bit there was no mistaking whether a fish was on or not, The line just started running out. The fight was on and an hour and a half later we were able to see the fish.
I would post some pic's from this season but I still don't have the privilege yet. As soon as we get clearance I'll start posting some good pic's from PWS. We had a stellar season with a couple of barn doors but mostly targeting turkey's, lungs, and rockfish.
The picture was outside the straight at Montague Island and on that day, we landed 6 fish from 165-105 lbs. The following day we landed a few more over 100lbs too. I considered that weekend our best of the year since we had the holding tank full of ling cod and the halibut fillets alone filled a 180 and two 120 qt coolers. Not to mention the yellow eye, black bass, and rock fish. Yes, my friends think I'm a god. lol
haha ive had quite a few days like that myself while fishing the northern end of shuyak and afognak island had some days 10+ hundred pounders few over 200.
