Is there any shuttle service still operating in Fairbanks?
Sign of the time what was a gravy job is three times as much and no one will do it.You can buy one of those Coleman dirt bikes at Sportsman's for about $700. https://www.sportsmans.com/camping-...rsports-ct200u-trail-200-mini-bikes/p/1467310
It’s a crazy world we live in. Easy 500$ but can’t find a company or person to do it.Sign of the time what was a gravy job is three times as much and no one will do it.
Thanks, but not really an option. Reviews say it doesn’t go over 20 mph and operational max weight is 200#. Driving the truck to the takeout location is an hour (50 miles on gravel road), then 2.5 hours back. That delays our rafting start by 3.5 hours. I cant move the truck until its offloaded and we’ve verified all parts/pieces and supplies are ready. A bike is the last option if I can’t hire drivers to move the truck or find a taxi service to pick me up. I don’t remember enough traffic at that end of the Steese to make hitchhiking a reliable option either. You can buy one of those Coleman dirt bikes at Sportsman's for about $700. https://www.sportsmans.com/camping-...rsports-ct200u-trail-200-mini-bikes/p/1467310
Thanks Larry. I have an older Rambo ebike which does well. its 50 miles between the take out and put in which would take a couple hours to travel. max speed is about 20 mph. I didn't think of taking it with me on the float, but that's an option.I've been eyeballin' this stylr of electric bike fellas. Heck of an upfront investment but a Birch Creek shuttle wouldn't take that long, then you could float the bike back downstream to the vehicle.
