extended warranty

just wanted to see what some opinions out there are regarding an extended warranty and if it is worth it. or which option you bought of the extended choices. I purchased a new 2011 Polaris Ranger 6x almost a month ago. would've been nice to pick it up earlier in the summer but took longer than expected to sell my old sportsman. so now winter is almost here and I usually don't ride in the winter, and have only put on 329 miles. of course middle of winter is when the 6 month factory warranty runs out. it went to the shop after the first hunting trip cause it was burning oil. they replaced a reed valve and it hasn't burned any oil in the last 40 miles. with what happened to 323 and some of the other things I've heard and seen is it worth the money? I was hoping to spend my dividend on new tires, but would it be better spent on the warranty? never had any major problems with my other polaris rigs and don't expect to have any with this one. and after cruising in it for the last couple of rides I am not ready to give it back. thanks guys in advance.

Absolutely. Warranty is only as good for you as long as you own the machine, however when it comes time to sell, you can do a 1 time transfer. Having a warranty is much more appealing on a used rig.

I've used my warranty a few times on breaks, paid my deductible and walked out the door. $50 on a $1800 repair is...paid for itself after 1 stop to the shop.

When you consider the price of a new Polaris their 6 month warranty looks pretty darn sorry in my opinion. I run Polaris ATV's and have never bought an extended warranty. I think if I ever do I will keep excellent records or be prepared for a pain in the butt when dealing with the factory and the dealer. Maybe I'm wrong.

I recommend an extended warranty for every type of machine. Lol
