Fella's,
I have a 3 YO English Lab, female, spayed in need of a hunting home. My shift work doesn't allow me the time this pup needs. She'll hunt, water or land and isn't gun shy. Anyway if you guys know of anyone in need of a gun dog give me a ring @ 224-5099 thanks.

Mixed breed

Mixed breed

Sorry but is this a mixed breed? I know there are English Setters and Labrador retrievers but never heard of a English Lab.

English labs are just a lab of English discent. The tend to be slightly larger and from the one's I have seen have larger heads, similar to a Chessie. Do a search and you will find a ton of info.

My Lab

My Lab

My lab must be of English descent. I think he weighs in at 130-135.
It was kind of bright out....ptargiman, that he retrieved.

He is partial to fur too. Will retrieve hares when shot with a .22. I have to throw a snowball in the direction first but he knows the routine.

She is pure bred

She is pure bred

She is pure bred english Lab. I had no intentions of breeding her so I didn't get the AKC bressing paperwork. English Labs are SMALLER than other labs. Bella is about 45 pounds and is only up to my knee. She's very energenic and will retrieve in water or land. I bought her from L&R kennel in the valley. I guess one could get the paperwork from them to get an AKC ticket. I hoping to find someone who will have her out hunting. THanks Guys

Also, how is she with other dogs (esp. bigger ones), kids, and cats? Does she live with you inside? Any pics?

Thanks for your replys guys, but this AM I gave to her to a family of 5 that have a couple acres in the valley. She got exactly what I wanted for her.

Best of luck

Best of luck

Best of luck to her. I had to leave one of my labs back in NY before coming to AK. One of the hardest things I ever had to do as she was a great hunter. But, like you, I found a family with three little girls that adored her. Hope she has lots of land to roam on and can do what dogs need to do.

Daveinthebush,
I love your line at the end. Hunt with a gun.

I might steal that for another forum :)

375Ultra : Sometimes I have my poetic moments. It is a truthism though. Probably left over from my time in Viet Nam when I carried a grenade launcher and 3 sandbags full of HE, buckshot and WP.

You might call Baron Rea at 357-LABS. Baron runs a lab rescue and may know of someone that needs a good hunting dog.
