Hi All

I have a Polaris 500 that will not charge the battery. Have installed a new battery but continues to loose the charge. Any recommendations where I should look next?

Time to look at the charging circuit. Put a voltmeter on the battery with the machine off and then check it with the machine running. If there is no difference, your charging circuit is the culprit. With the machine running, your voltage should jump up to 13-14vdc.

I have to agree with that, no it's sitting inside the storage shed at the cabin. Thanks I'll start getting the parts ordered

Yes it could be the stator, but first I would check the wiring, the fuse if it has one, and don't forget the charging diode. You can also do a resistance test on the stator to see if it bad before going through all the work of replacing it.

Cplne, check your private messages.

It's a spectacular morning on the river. :)
