My son and I are going to be in Seward and Kodiak in early June. In Seward we'll stay at the Elmendorf Rec Camp and at Kodiak we'll stay at the Coast Guard facilities for active duty members. He's got a conference 2 days in Anc and 1 day in Kodiak and we'll be fishing either on the front leg (SE) or back leg (Kodiak)... depending.

Which location would be recommended and which species can we expect that time of year? Any help much appreciated?

Don't know anything about Kodiak, but have fished Seward twice (once in June and once in August). In June we targeted rockfish, halibut, silvers, and kings. Did great on all species except the kings- wife & I only caught one total (11#). Halibut were smaller compared to the size we caught near Deep Creek (15- 20# vs. 30-40#).
Good Luck.

Kodiak does not get all the pressure on their fish as any port connected to the road system and they do alot of fishing within 20 minutes of the harbor catching multiple species
