There isn't any better equipment or customer service than Dillon Precision.
A friend has a 550 with full setups for 9mm, 40S&W, 45ACP, 357Mag, and 223Rem. When we set it up, it took very little adjusting to get ready to load, each caliber adjusted easily, stays adjusted and just keeps cranking out ammo. 1000s of rounds loaded and no problems whatsoever.
I've had a 550 for about 15years and am very happy with it. I've heard their warrenty is as good as it gets but mine has worked flawless so I haven't had to try the warrenty.
Dillon has a "no BS warranty". From what I can tell, Dillon is a model of what an American owned and operated company should be. I love the 550b. PM me if you want more info about my experiances with the 550B and Dillon.
Heard nothing but good things about Dillion. My buddy got a 550 B a while back and loves it. Used it myself and can see why. Bought one myself a few weeks back as I was so impressed. Top shelf stuff from what I can see.
I have had a 550B for close to 20 years. My grandkids will be loading on it long after I am gone. I load all my hand gun ammo as well as my 45-70 and .223 with it. A friend loaded for his .300 Weatherby on his. Dillon progressive loading presses are a good investment. Try it, you will like it!
Unlike those that have posted before me, I don't have a 550b. I have the 650xl. I, too, am nothing but impressed with the quality of this press. It took a bit more to get set up, but now that it is, I can routinely crank out 500-600 rounds an hour, and not feel 'rushed'.
FYI: the 650xl features an electric cartridge case feeder, and an auto-indexing shell plate.
Owing to its near-cult status among reloading aficionados, a person with buyers remorse rarely ends up on the losing side of the deal when selling their press on the secondary market. Simply put, these presses (along with most, if not all, Dillon products) retain their value.
I have 3- 550B's, one at home and two at the shop, at the shop both the son-in-law and I can make ammo at the same time, different calibers. good way to spend time. I can load over 500 rounds per hour per machine. Change of calibers is simple. Just call Dillion if you have a problem or something needs fixed, it will be in the mail by the time you are off the phone. Great service. I started with RCBS Rock Chucker, Dillon much faster.
Dillon has an excellent business plan. Make top of the line tools and fix ANY problems that may arise. I heard of one fellow that sent back a press that was in a house fire and was sent back a new one. Now that is a no BS warrenty and means that used Dillon tools are as good as new because they will be replaced or rebuilt if they are damaged.
