DG 344 Nellie Juan Goat Info???

I drew DG 344 Nellie Juan goat tag. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has done the hunt about how they accessed, when they went, what they saw, and general recommendations. Preliminarily I'm thinking of flying in to one of the lakes early season, but not sure.

I applied for this tag this year, and didn't get it, congrats! I was planning to fly into that lake smack dab in the middle of the map (if possible). I will be following this thread for that info, for next time. The lake is already up there, sure beats coming from the road north of Seward.

I had considered putting in for this permit with the plan of hiking/packrafting in from the road, but was told by a knowledgeable local that the goats are on the ridge north of the lake, so it sounds like you have a good plan.

Coming in from Nellie Juan is quite the climb, but doable. Coming in from the north side is an easier walk, but considerably longer.

Like Goatboy said, it is doable from Nellie Juan, but the last guy I know who did it said he would never do it again. Good luck!
