2/24 After an amazing weekend, the weather has cooperated. Trails are in excellent condition!! There are a few bumpy sections on the Susitna going down to the mouth of the Yentna, and there are a few bumps on the Yentna, but overall, conditions are great! Going off trail is not suggested due to deep heavy snow. Please don't throttle down the trail ripping it to shreds. If you are going to play, please play off the trails. There is a lot of hauling taking place to cabins right now. Trail markers and signs have been getting added over the past week. Grooming was taking place on Tuesday. Jr. Iditarod will be coming up the Susitna River this weekend, please keep aware and be courteous.

18 inches of new snow in the last week at the lodge.

1/26 The Tal River Loop has been put in. Take a left 1 1/2 miles up river from Luces. This is an overland trail to the TalVista Lodge via Alexander Lake. The trail is 35 miles from start to the TalVista. It is 4' packed snow and beautiful. Most of the trail is marked, stay in main trail and you won't veer off in the wrong direction. If you come across the landing strip, Kenny Hughes place, stay off strip and respect his trails. This is the halfway point.
