Has anyone made the trip down to these lakes off of the Denali Highway? I have fished many lakes on the highway with great success. However, you know what they say, " the grass is always greener on the other side" or in my case "the fishing is always better the further you are from people". Im mostly worried about the terrain and if ite feasible to get back there? It looks decent on google maps. Thanks, Eric

You can get back there fairly easily. Take the route from Butte Lake or even Seattle Creek. A few guys get out there fishing Big Lake every winter. Mostly Big Lake, with only rarely do I see anyone on Deadman. I guess I'm assuming your talking about snow machine riding out there to ice fish. ATV's is quite a challenge at times.

That's a really cool lodge you guys have. I had no idea such a thing existed on the denali highway. Keep living the dream !

That's a daunting trip, and yep, you'll get some winch time! I found the best thing to anchor to is a longline anchor, but I'm not sure where you get those in Fairbanks! lol. Maybe someplace in Anchorage or the Kenai area would have them. Good luck!! Claude

Did you ever make it back there during the summer months? I'v been eyeballing the area and that lake looks intriguing. I would love to hear how your trip went. Thanks!

I attempted that trip once in the winter with my buddy. we made it about half way with the route we took and hit an area that was super wind blown and didnt have much snow and we were to worried about riding the creek (there wasnt any tracks on it so we didnt want to be the first to test it out) I dont think we took the way most people would and its probably why we failed to get back there. Once you get enough post (think its 10) shoot me a pm
