Trying to load up my truck camper for a trip. The handheld remote for the jacks wasn't working so I found a new battery and went into the work shed to take the remote apart to replace it. The kind with four screws so small that you need eye repair screwdrivers. As soon as I walked out, I looked over and one jack had fired up and the camper was leaning over about 15-20 degrees. I have no idea why it didn't land on its side. Holly smokes! I quickly ran over and turned the remote system off. That camper was almost toasted.

I've never had that happen before. No idea why one jack would take off on its own and run wild continuously. Unbelievable!😡😡

Crazy how so many things are made overly complicated these days.

Glad it all worked out and hope you solve the riddle in short order.

Not fun but glad you were close and able to turn it off before it went any farther. We almost lost a truck camper in the Bighorn mountains in Wyoming once. Unloading at a campsite after driving straight through. We were all tired and placing the feet of the legs in place, one of the guys didn't have his all the way in. Now there was only three legs and only one crank handle to share between us, but some how we dang near tipped that over. Not a good start to out deer hunt out there. Too tired.

Yep, shorts cleaned. Appropriate amount of bleach. Used to do the hank cranking. Amenities are nice. When they work.

Back in the day (during my stint in Tejas), I had a fancy 5th wheel with inside controls for the powered (and "automatic" ) leveling legs. On one trip to Big Bend area, I got it to the "estimated 10 degrees of level" and hit the "automatic" level button. Came to level and then the front 2 legs (out of 6) kept going...never saw a 45 y.o. with bad knees move quite as fast to get out, around the front, and to the battery disconnect.....then after the requisite calming of the heart and checking the shorts, took the motors off the legs.

Second the view of how nice amenities are, when they work as intended.
