Can anyone tell me the most efficient way to get to Cooper Lake just west of Kenai lake and to get above the treeline to look for black bears?

Once you cross over the western tip of kenai lake, hange a left on snug harbor road. the road winds up the mtn and dead ends at cooper lake. From there you got a pretty nice trail to the upper russian. nice hike that will take you in a clip.
