Yep, that's a BIG "minor" detail!!!Before I went to Kodiak for my brown bear hunt I watched pretty much every video on YT I could find that involved hunting brown bears. After hundreds of videos I'm convinced that an arrow is far superior to a bullet when killing brown bears. There's no concussion and the incredible stamina is not triggered (when properly placed). They bleed out so fast and don’t run far.
The only problem is how close you have to get! Due to that minor detail, I choose not to use the arrow, haha.
Cool video, thanks for sharing.
Will totally depend on where it’s hit, ie, heart, double lung, single lung or nicked single lung, gut… There is a saying that a bear can still kill you with its heart blown apart. Generally speaking though, if it’s a real lethal shot just a few minutes. The big bear I referred to above as the calmest, quietest kills I have ever seen took probably less than three minutes. I don’t know where he was hit but believe it was a double lung. He was hit on the shore of a small creek, swam back across the creek, pulled himself up and over the bank, walked about 20 yards, stopped, wobbled once, wobbled again, then fell over dead. What might a time frame be here, from impact until the bear has died?
