Circle Hook Size

A bit of a dumb question, but is there any consensus on the preferred size of circle hook when soaking bait for halibut?

Most guys I know use either 16/0 or 20/0. I'll drop down to 10/0 or 12/0 when using smaller baits and looking for chickens, but those are smaller than you see on most lines. The 20/0 are fine for bigger fish, but big enough you'll sort out a lot of small ones just because they have trouble finding the point of the hook.

What BrownBear said! There are a lot of differences though from Manufacturers. I use a 12/0 that is really close to a lot of 16/0
