Sending this out in the hopes that someone on here may be able to assist in the retrieval of some gear. My son and two of his buddies were climbing China Wear wall up Caribou Creek yesterday (4/1/23), and had an accident. One of the kids fell off the wall and was critically injured. He ended up having to be medivac'd out via helicopter and a bunch of his gear, to include two ice axes, ice screws, etc. were left about 50' or so up on the wall. If any climber's are headed out there and are able to retrieve and return the tools, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Thanks Dave, he has shown some improvement throughout last night and today, so it appears that he's moving in the right direction. Regarding the climbing gear that was left on the ice, my son and his other buddy posted the request for help on some other local climbing forums and I guess someone contacted them and told them that they were headed out there and would collect the gear. When that person went out there, he saw the gear but decided to do some climbing on another fall first and then pick it up on his way out. When he headed out and got back to the area, the gear was gone, and so far no one has claimed responsibility. Hopefully, whoever did collect the gear will return it. I know that our local ice climbing community is not all that big and folks stay pretty informed, and this accident is no secret. I can't imagine someone would have taken it with the plan of just keeping it.

I'd like to give a shout out to the gentleman that recovered all the gear from the accident, and returned it to my son yesterday. Even though he probably doesn't belong to this forum, I'd like to say thank you for the kind deed sir, I'm sure that when the young man recovers from his injuries, he will be very appreciative.
