Brenneke Slug Difference?

It seems that the Brenneke Black Magic is the gold standard of slugs for a smoothbore, but is there any difference between the Black Magic 2 3/4 and 3 slugs? I know that the 2 3/4 is a 1oz slug and the 3 is a 1 3/8 slug but other then that are the the same design and hardness? Is there a recoil difference.

Also what do you guys recommend for a good all round small game shell from a 12 gauge? Mainly pot hunting for birds and rabbits.

Just make sure it is the 1 1/8 OZ -2 3/4" Mag slug if you have smooth barrel like I do in a Ithaca 37.

There's noticeably more recoil from the 3" in a light shotgun. Shoot ten or fifteen from the bench, and you'll reconsider the 2 3/4". Not that bench shooting will have much to do with field use, but it does indicate how quickly you will be able to make aimed second, third and fourth shots.

Brown Bear that is pretty much why I am looking at the 2 3/4 instead.
