I went out in Cooper Landing on Friday. Still a bit of snow in a couple of the places I wanted to hit up. Went to another spot and saw fresh tracks in the middle of the trail, and tracks up in the snow. No bear sightings though...

I was out and about on Saturday. I didn't see any bears. Seen plenty of moose and a lynx on skilak loop road on the way back home. It was sort of a blustery and cold day ... I think another week or two before things heat up.

Did some looking in the Cooper Landing area yesterday. No tracks yet where I was.

I went through yesterday still a bit of snow on the mountains (north facing). The south faces look pretty ripe for the picking. Im gonna go up and get one the weekend after next Ill post some pictures so you guys can check it out. :)

I've heard no reports from Cooper Landing and only a couple 3rd hand accounts of bear spottings on the lower peninsula over the last couple weeks.

The bears are officially awake in the Valdez area with multiple black bear sightings over the last few days.
