Black bear success!! Finally got one!

Wife and I took a blackie last night--first one ever. Wow, it was crazy up there, bears everywhere, and the grizz were never far behind. I was considering abandoning the bait due to the many Griz, but finally the blacks all came. I didnt know if I'd get this guy out of the woods. I yelled and banged trees for an hour to finally get a griz sow and her cubs off the area--the pucker meter was pegging 9.5!

Our bear squared 6'5'' and has a perfect hide.
All of the black bears (and grizzlies that have come in) had perfect hides.
Don't give up interior fellas, everything is a bit late I think.

You earned that one!! Glad it heated up for you after a long wait and lots of miles. I think the pucker factor is the beat part of the hunt...you won't forget that for awhile...if ever! That's what I like about this type of hunting...excitement and adrenaline overload! Helps to clean out your arteries

Way to go buddy, glad you got one and a good one at that! You got to love it when a plan comes together. I am sure glad to hear that none of them were rubbed. Man things are slow down here. Congrats to both of you! You got to love it when it gets that exciting at a bait! Multiple bears at the same time always makes things a little more interesting!
