Here's a sneak peak of the all new redesigned Seahawk Hard Top. North River has incorporated the Seahawk OS cabin design on the standard Seahawk. Starting at $55K + engine options including delivery to Alaska. Available with outboards or inboard diesel. A diesel model should be in Alaska in August.

This model will have a small doghouse and self bailing deck. We can also build the boat with a raised deck over the engine with railings. This would provide a completely open rear fish space.

I have a 24' hardtop in production now that will be finished and hopefully delivered to Anc by September. It will include a recessed EzAnchor Puller and Electrodyne pot puller/davit built-in similar to the 32 footer. It will have the 250hp diesel for power. I'll post some pics shortly of the boat in production.

How well do the outdrives hold up compared to the volvo's? What is the warranty on both outdrives and engines? Who does the warranty/ service work on those engines in different areas of Alaska? Yeh, it's bold but I'm confindent in the statement. We see many boats in the shop from different manufactures for modifications or repairs and the quality of North River and Phantom stands out. I'm not saying the other aren't good so don't take me wrong. As far as price, I'm confident we can beat our competition in providing an equally equipped boat with the same features. Warranty on the FNM engine is 2yr/1000hrs. The drive's come with a 2 year warranty as well. AK Frontier Fabrication is the only authorized service center for the FNM diesels at this time. In the near future a mobile mechanic will be available to provide service but for now service is accomplished in Wasilla or in Valdez while I'm here. Other service centers will be available over time. The engines are relatively simple to work on so most any diesel mechanic could service the engine if in remote areas. I have over 3000hours on my bravo II drives since the boat was put in service in 2003. I've never had a drive failure and run 160 - 220 miles daily over the summer. During this time I've only replaced the clutch cones and top gear set. The clutches were slipping at idle requiring a little more throttle to engage so I replaced them. The bottom halves are still going strong. Most of the others in the charter fleet in Valdez run the Volvo duo props and they have had numerous problems and repair and parts are WAY more expensive. I have a customer in Juneau who runs the Bravo III and hasn't reported any problems on his 2nd year of running. Personally I like the Bravo II because it's one beefy drive, can swing a big prop, and so far has been VERY reliable.

As far as the ride quality goes for North River/Almar, I can only tell you I have clients that have been on the other boats in the fleet and they all say that my Almar rides better then any. The caterman in town is the only one that has a similar ride. When the seas are rough I'm usually able to comfortably cruise 2-3kts faster than most boats to include those that are larger. The 55 degree bow entry really allows the boat to cut into the waves when the seas are rough when others are pounding through. One of the other benefits the 24/55 affords is it's stability when taking waves on the beam. Boats with a typical 18 degree deadrise tend to pitch and roll much hard when in the trough.
