Beaver lakes?

I rented a cabin on West Beaver for about a week right after Christmas, what’s the fishing like for those lakes? Rainbows? Char? I plan on hitting Big Lake near Meadow Creek for some pike, hopefully I’ll find a burbot or two… Any info would be great

Burbot, bait, and Big Lake could be a no no if that's what you are referring to. That is if you plan to use bait for pike. Also might want to look at # of lines legal for pike vs burbot. Big Lake is fortunate to see regular enforcement.

From how I read it is that bait is allowed for pike, but it has to be whole herring or smelt (hooligan) with a single point hook, 3/4 gap from point to shank. 5 lines are allowed from 8am-5pm. All other times it is only 2 lines. Bait must be suspended from the bottom. All other fish caught with bait must be released.

I plan on doing some tip ups and jigging with the kids. Burbot limit is 2/day

I always make sure I’m within the regs… I know the one time I do is the one time I’ll get checked!! Lol
