was doing some modifications on my 1999 2859 ciera express. found one red and one black 2/0 power cables tucked behind the blower tubes on the port side of the engine compartment. curious, I crawled around a bit trying to see what they went to. they follow the transom and dissapear under the cabin on the starboard side. I removed several panels and still cant find the other end. does anyone know what they are or what they used to go to?

sounds like the primary + and _ leads to your helm... Do you have a fuse box or power panel behind your lower Helm station..???

Those wires are for an anchor winch. If get down in your lower bunk, about where your waste tank is located, under the helm seat area, is where you should find one end. Sometimes it's all balled up behind the tank or may extend to the engine compartment. The other end, should be somewhere up around the front, where your anchor rope storage area is located. They can be a real B*%ch to get at sometimes. If close to ER and need some one small to get at them let me know.

Thanks Spinner, that is exactly what they are.. after a little more belly crawling I was able to locate both ends. Now I just need to decide on a winch since the tough part is done for me, Thank again.
