OK, here's my question for all the pilots out there. I am looking for a doctor that is willing to perform the "basic Medical" exam. Seems that all the FAA medical examiners will only do the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class med. They won't touch the basic med. Other doctors don't know anything about the basic medical exam and refuse to do what they don't understand. Any pilots out there know of a doctor willing to do a basic med? I still have a valid 3rd class medical but recent health issues require me to ground myself until I get an exam. The FAA special issuance exam is just more trouble than it is worth. So the basic medical is an option but I need a doctor that is willing to perform the exam. So far my search has been all refusals. Your help is greatly appreciated!
