I am looking for someone to team up with this year. Last year I had some friends that wanted to share a stand and turns out I was the only one to contribute anything or even go out for that matter. So im looking for someone who maybe wants to partner up. I am NOT looking for someone to do all the work and let me just sit on their stand. I know legally I couldn't set the bait myself since only the person who registered it can bait/ maintain the site but I can contribute dog food/popcorn etc. or even just put up $$ for supplies. I have a couple of trail cams and even my own barrel if needed as well as an ATV for transportation. Not really looking at setting up a bear camp as my work schedule is kind of crazy but would like it to be within 75+ or - miles of here so we can go out on day trips or even 2 days at a time but I just done have the vacation/time off to do week long trips. If it sounds like something anyone would like to do let me know on here or via PM for more details about myself or supplies etc.

You have transportation, some of the hardware, money, and enough spare time to hunt your station. You don't need a partner! Someone to get pissy because they think they did more work than you or because you've shot 2 bears at the station and they haven't shot one yet. Boo-hoo. Who needs a partner when they already have everything they need?
I love to do it myself. Then if I take a friend out, it's a gift, a favor, a kindness.
The only thing I really prefer someone else there for it to be a lookout while I'm preoccupied skinning and butchering a bear. And an invited guest/buddy can do that.

I did my moose hunt this fall solo and it turned out ok but could of been bad as well. I left a plan with the wife and detailed map etc and a what to do if im not back type thing but it is more of a safety thing with me, like when my wheeler stopped running and i was 90+ miles from anything. I didn't see anyone on the way in or out luckily it was a relay that blew and I had spares but It got me thinking and it could of been a lot worse. Yes I had supplies to hold me over and left a plan but you can never be too sure out there, plus it would of been nice to have someone to talk to in the down time. Also when I set up last year I only had 1 set of bears come through and it was a mom with cubs. I havent gotten a bear yet and would like to pair up with someone with a bit more experience. It was by first time baiting and was wondering if maybe I did something wrong or could improve on my setup or materials.

Well I see what you are saying. A great person to help with a bear bait set up would be some guy who work for Golden Valley (up there) or a tree cutting company. Someone who could put a scent ball 25 or 30 feet up a tree (and maybe hang your treestands too). If you are in a low density area or you just haven't gotten a bear into a station yet maybe getting the scent travelling out further is needed. The further up you get the scent ball, the further that scent should travel. Bears find the bait station with their nose. Have you used anise or other sprays or scent gels?

I set off a couple of those bear bombs which were useless and filled some 2 liters with cool aid/very sugar water mix and shoved a sock in the bottom then turned upside down so it creates a slow drip also had some grease candles. I tried things other people had success with and I know there were other bears in the area based off of scat and tracks and another baiter about 3/4 miles away got 2 off of his stand I just couldn't get them in mine there was also a grizz that came in pretty early and cleaned me out then I re-baited with dog food /marshmallows and some other stuff and after that nothing came back. It was pretty discouraging to say the least so I am hoping to have better luck this year

Well try one of the $35 BaitEm907 scent balls and get it as high into the breeze as you can and you'll be putting out a powerful, attractive scent

I'll tell you what, I am planning on baiting this summer and I have other guys baiting with me as well, but I could put up another stand and have you hunt it you want. If you have you own gear and are willing to help, then I don't have a problem putting one up for you to use. I am planning on one right now, but if you are serious and would like to hunt, then I will put up a second. PM me and I will fill you in. Just make sure you keep it hush hush on my spots. If your wife would like to come and hunt with you on it, not a problem, just make sure not alot of people know about it, please.

I did some bear baiting solo last year (first time) no luck. Did my second successful moose hunt as well. Here's what you need. You can send the wifey an "I'm okay message" or send a "Help my 4 wheelers broken" message and if it gets really ugly hit SOS and the cavalry will come. Cheap too.

I'm looking to do some bear hunting around Fairbanks this fall, but have limited time to do it solo. I have never done it before, but I have taken the class already and have lots of gear. I have a game cam, four-wheeler with trailer, tree stand and other stuff. If anyone is willing to share their site I would be very interesting in giving you a hand.

If Bsj425 has found someone else to hunt with, I am willing to help. I am always looking to find new people to hunt with and hang out with. I love to help and to see others enjoyment in hunting. Bsj asked and I offered to him first. If he lets me know if he still wants to, then I will hunt with him. If not I will PM the rest of you to see who would like to have me help you out and hunt with you.

Anyone willing to share a good hunting area near Fairbanks? Another bait within a 1/4 mile would do us both good and I'd rather share info with someone then intrude upon someones existing area.

woah didnt realize there were any responses to this thread.. I am teaming up with Mr.Jcorwin and some of his buddies. Hopefully at least one of us will connect! and even if we dont should still be a good time. Ill settle for just about any size bear even if we have to wipe the milk off its lips:)
