Limit by 7:15. 4 mallets, 2 pins, 1 wig, & 1 suzie shoveler that snuck in at first light. Sunny and zero wind.

Lots and lots of shooting heard from the flats today, especially this morning.

Lots and lots of shooting heard from the flats today, especially this morning.

I drove across the flats on my way to work this morning and saw all kinds of ducks flying like crazy away from the marsh. Literally flying for their lives...
These birds of the year have no idea what's going on.

I can't wait until this weekend so I can get out after them.

Has anyone seen any movers coming in yet? I've only seen a couple small flocks but I assume they were locals out for flying lessons.

Slow south of Anchorage based on the trucks parked and the shots heard. Two birds for 3 ups for my group. The worst opener ever for me in that area.

Went out this afternoon with the intention of hunting this evening. Hunted for 45 minutes and called it early because I forgot bug dope - just not worth it with the black gnats. Shot one mallard. I'll call it is a success because the pup retrieved the bird flawlessly after being out of the game for 2.5 years.

North Pole.
Had to work for mine. Almost limited out between 3 of us. Heard lots of shots from other groups. Been out of the duck game for about 12 years so it was nice to knock down a few.

Pretty awesome day on the marsh. Saw allot of AWA members and had a great time with SKybust and his son. He shot his first bird today.. 10 mins later grabs a double..

Oh.. My first two shots were a double.. Was pretty awesome.. And obviously luck..;)

Six bird for two guys. Not the greatest, but fun none the less. 2 goldeneyes, 2 mallards, 1 widgeon, and a spoony. The dogs were fantastic, and eager to please.
